Building More Than Smiles

Jacob Parsons

Every Smile Has a Story

Part of what makes Newton special are the friendly faces you get to know around town – and every one of those smiles has a story. When Dr. Jacob Parsons opened Hometown Dental, it was with the philosophy of hearing the story behind every smile.

For him and his staff, dentistry has always been more than teeth. Instead, it’s about building relationships, understanding people’s experiences, and helping patients feel comfortable and confident when they walk through the door. In fact, those personal connections are at the heart of everything they do.

Choosing Newton

Originally from Colorado, Dr. Parsons and his wife knew they wanted to build their life – and eventually their business – in a place that felt connected. Newton offered something special: a welcoming small-town atmosphere where neighbors know each other and local businesses support one another. They knew that Newton was the kind of community where they wanted to put down roots and build a future.

Giving Back to Newton

When Dr. Parsons opened Hometown Dental, he wanted the practice to reflect the community it serves. The office was designed to feel welcoming and comforting, a safe space for patients of all ages and backgrounds. To best serve his patients, it was important to equip the practice with technology that people may not expect to find in a small town office. But more importantly, the team focuses on building relationships; taking time to listen to patients, understand their experiences, and make them feel comfortable. These genuine person to person moments are a core part of the care they provide.

Proud to call Newton home, Dr. Parsons believes strongly in giving back to the community, and is committed to supporting local schools and families. As a father, he knows how busy and stressful life can get, so he began offering extended evening appointments every other Monday so students, teachers, and school staff can schedule visits without missing class or work. The practice also donates a portion of every new patient visit to the Newton Community School District to help support student meal programs. It’s a small way to help ensure kinds in the community have access to the nutrition they need – especially for their dental health. Whether he sees his patients in the office, at the grocery store, or at the youth sports games he coaches, Dr. Parsons values the relationships that come with living and working in a community like Newton – where business owners, families, and neighbors all look out for each other.

Building More Than a Business

For Dr. Parsons, building Hometown Dental in Newton has been more about opening the doors to a dental practice – it’s about becoming part of the community’s story. By creating a welcoming place for patients, supporting local schools, and raising his family here, he’s proud to be investing in the same community that has supported him. In Newton, success isn’t measured by a thriving business – it’s measured by the relationships you build along the way.
